The coloured backround to the table below indicates the date of the line-up of the group for the particular recording.
These songs were recorded live at the Catacombs Coffee Bar in Manchester, and the tapes leant to me by Alan Taylor. This recording was probably made by Edwin Brain, a helper at the Catacombs. Most of these songs are linked by introductions, and it would seem that tracks 1-18 are from the same session (judging by the 'hum' on the tapes that had to be digitally 'de-hummed'). Also, in view of the songs included, and a reference in one introduction to 'last Sunday', it would seem that the session was Wednesday 27 October 1965 - the first week the Catacombs ran full-time. Tracks 19-21 are much later, between October 1967 and June 1968.
Songs in green itlaics were NOT written by the group - which at this stage (1965) means about half of them. An MP3 download is available for the songs. The words of all the songs on this CD are available on this web site, and there is also a page of the chords used.
