Navigators

The "Navigators" were a 1960s Christian group/band from Rochdale, Lancashire, and their name can be seen on some publicity for meetings at which the crossBeaTs played, and also on some other piublicity here:

4 May 68, 26 Oct 68, 29 Mar 69, 4 Oct 69 and some Oct 69 publicity for the Fish Coffee bar, Milnrow

I received the e-mail below from Peter and Susan Marson in December of 2020, about an LP record of some of the songs from Youth Praise . Peter has since put one of the songs that the Navigators performed (from YP2) on to YouTube: "For me to Live is Christ, to Die is Gain" - at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhaxxQt3Nz0

Hello

I've just been looking at The Crossbeats website and am just emailing to mention that my husband, Peter Marson, was in The Navigators. They were from Rochdale.

We have just managed to find a vinyl record on Amazon where they did two tracks in 1969. It's A Tribute To Youth Praise. He had lost his copy long ago so it's been a nice surprise to find this and hopefully hear the group again.

With kind regards

Susan Marson
